Bill has been exploring his love of wood for 40+ years. A self taught turner, creating pieces from solid wood. He turns up to 21” diameter bowls. Most of his pieces are turned green or wet so when they dry they take on a warped or oblong shape which adds to the beauty of each piece. Turning mostly native woods from the midwest which he has cut and prepared and also working with colored pencil and resin, each wood piece tells a story of the tree how it grew and where it came from. All solid wood pieces are made to be used and food safe.
He also makes bottle stoppers, handles for utensils, goblet bottoms, pepper grinders and bowls. There is great joy in creating a piece that will be used enjoyed and then handed down for generations to come.
His most recent adventure in wood is creating wood and resin table tops using unique woods from burls to Buckthorn.
